The Site Development Process

After developing hundreds of web sites NLI Media Group has developed a unique process that shrinks the development time line considerably. For our clients, that means a better web site developed in less time, often for a lower price than the competition. Once you engage NLI Media Group to design (or redesign) your company web site, you'll meet with one of our media consultants who will guide you through the process. With your consultant you can consider options for your site and get sound advices on features, content and creative direction.

Once you have decided upon the features to be included in your web site, your dedicated project manager will lead a kick off meeting where all members of your development team will be present. The art director will discuss options for the look and feel of your web site. You'll get asked questions about your color preferences and we'll make recommendations for design based on the best of current industry practices. Our developers will ask very specific questions about how you want the web site to function, what data you want to be able to access and how your site will perform.

Following the kick off meeting your assigned art director will develop site concepts. From the concepts you may choose one design and tweak it until you are satisfied with the look and feel. NLI Media Group will coach you on your decisions to make sure not only that the look of the web site is satisfactory, but also that the design will be effective and intuitive for your user.

Your project manager and developer will lay out the entire site and site functions on paper before writing a single line of code. It's very easy (and inexpensive!) to make functional design changes on paper, but very difficult once programming has started. Every function will be mapped and described using our unique user-centric perspective.

Once you have approved both the artwork and the functional design our project manager will be in touch with you on a weekly basis to ensure you know what progress has been made on your project. Periodic progress meetings will be held. Once the software and artwork have been fully produced our testers will make sure the web site is error free. At this point you will test the web site yourself and ensure all is correct before your new web presence is deployed and made publicly available.
