Internet Broadcasting Group and Affordable Sound Join Forces to Form Affordable Sound Radio Online
Austin, Texas- Local musicians unable to get airplay on Austin's commercially owned radio stations will find respite in Affordable Sound Radio Online, launching September 1, 2008. The radio station which will be available online at AffordableSound.FM, will specialize in playing artists that aren't heard on any other station.
While commercial radio is losing revenue and listenership every quarter, internet radio is growing at exponential rates. Internet Broadcasting Group and Affordable Sound will work together to create a station that is "thoroughly listenable, engaging and entertaining," said Affordable Sound co-owner Mike Marquardt. Affordable Sounds specializes in high volume CD duplication, artist posters and collateral and music distribution. The company which has traditionally provided artists with exposure through compilation CD's and events, sees internet radio as a new and highly viable venue to promote local artists.
"People continue to seek a place to hear new artists… Not just what record companies want them to hear, but independent artists who are talented, progressive and interesting," commented Internet Broadcasting Group vice-president Mark Lassoff.
The AffordableSound.FM Station will feature traditional music programming with fewer commercials and promotions than are found in commercial FM stations. Since the cost structure of operating a radio station on the internet is hundreds of thousands of dollars lower than operating a terrestrial station, there is less need to sell commercial advertising time.
Musicians who want their music to have exposure on the station will be able to submit their songs to Affordable Sound through their web site. Also, clients who utilize Affordable Sound for their traditional CD Duplication services will have their music included in the radio station's rotation.
Affordable sound co-owners, Mike Marquardt and Will Evans will also host a weekly "Top 10" style show which will be broadcast throughout the week as well as made available as on-demand programming. The Top 10 program will be available through the AffordableSound.FM web site as well as Apple iTunes™.
"It's rough for independent artists," said Marquardt, "Hopefully this station will make it just a little bit easier for them to get them heard. I think people will really enjoy listening too."

Internet Broadcasting Group Announces Network Lineup
Austin, Texas- People are familiar with, and have enjoyed programming from television and radio networks for years. Now, the Austin, Texas based Internet Broadcasting Group is introducing internet radio networks that allow just about anyone to own their own network affiliate.
Initially six networks are planned. Each network will appeal to a separate audience demographic and is designed to be compatible with different types of businesses. "For example, JuiceBox Radio, featuring DJ Jelly playing contemporary hits, is designed for a youth demographic. Companies that serve kids and ‘tweens would make great affiliates," explains Greg Narag, a media consultant with Internet Broadcasting Group. Affiliates will be play network programming but also add their own programming. The internet radio station for each affiliate will identify the programming sponsor in breaks and promo announcements.
"We really think this is going to revolutionize radio," explains Internet Broadcasting Group vice president Mark Lassoff, "Instead of advertising in a competitive environment, advertisers will become content producers and create programming that delivers their brand message."
It"s no secret that commercial radio revenues are slumping. According to the Radio Advertising Bureau radio station revenues were down 8% in March 2008 alone. Internet radio provides a much less costly programming model. Unlike traditional terrestrial radio, internet radio stations require no licensing and no expensive broadcasting towers or other equipment. "Getting an FCC broadcast license alone can cost over a million dollars," explains Narag.
In addition to JuiceBox, Internet Broadcasting Group is launching Nerd Radio which is designed to appeal to tech workers with programming about computers, electronics and video games. Other networks include a business and financial programming network, fashion and lifestyle radio and two separate religious networks with programming appealing to Christians and Jews.
"As more and more media is delivered via the internet, you"re going to see online radio networks grow and become important channels for advertising and marketing," states Lassoff. The Internet Broadcasting Group will launch its first radio stations on June 1, 2008.

Internet Broadcasting Group introduces private-label Internet radio
AUSTIN, Texas – You've heard of private-label clothing and groceries. Now, welcome to private-label Internet radio.
Internet Broadcasting Group, based in Austin, Texas, is pioneering the concept of private-label Internet radio. Private-label Internet radio lets advertisers broadcast brand-centric content online that attracts listeners and converts them to customers. Private-label Internet radio stations broadcast brand messages 24 hours a day – without competing ads. Brand messages and ads are blended with complementary music or talk-radio programming.
Internet Broadcasting Group's first private-label Internet radio client is CigarBoyz. CigarBoyz is a group of sophisticated men and women who network online and at CigarBoyz "Premium Blend" social events. CigarBoyz Radio will feature "Brat Pack"-style music, and informative programs such as "The Old Athlete," with former University of Texas football player Todd Hunt, and "The Wine Snob with Rudy Sed."
"Traditional radio is dying," says Mark Lassoff, vice president of Internet Broadcasting Group. "With audiences searching for alternatives to boring 'time and temperature' radio stations, a huge marketing opportunity has been uncovered. With major advertisers becoming content providers, the traditional commercial radio model – which has been around for decades – is being turned on its head."
As Americans are tuning out traditional radio, they're tuning in to Internet radio. The weekly online radio audience has reached an all-time high, according to new research from Arbitron and Edison Media Research. An estimated 31 million Americans listen to online radio on a weekly basis, and about 54 million listen monthly.
"What the concept of private-label Internet radio allows businesses to do," Lassoff says, "is reach very narrow demographics with the messages that are most attractive to them. If you want to target only young women living in condos, you could never do that with traditional radio. Private-label Internet radio allows you to do this with laser-like precision."
Meanwhile, private-label Internet radio gives advertisers complete control over not just the content of their ads, but the programming paired with that content.
"A financial company could produce talk-radio programming that delivered not just financial news, but special coverage and promotion of that company's family of funds and services," says Josh Epstein, sales manager at Internet Broadcasting Group.
Internet Broadcasting Group can launch a new Internet radio station for just a few thousand dollars, while a federal license for a new traditional station costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. Similarly, a new traditional radio station typically takes years to develop, but a new online radio station can be established in just a few weeks.
"A private-label Internet radio station provides more bang for an advertiser's buck," Epstein says.

PR Distributed By Missing Beat
Austin, Texas December 13, 2007 - NLI Media Group will offer an exciting new business telephone marketing service aimed at increasing sales and alleviating unproductive on hold time.
NLI Media Group is set to launch "Marketing on Hold," a new business telephone marketing service that will provide clients with informative and catchy advertising while their patrons are on hold.
According to AT&T, three out of four business calls are placed on hold every day. Sixty percent of the clients on hold will hang up if they hear silence. Out of the sixty percent of potential clients who hang up only one out of five will actually call back, leading to a significant loss in sales. Marketing messages, while customers are on hold may increase sale inquiries by fifteen percent and actual sales by almost twelve percent!
NLI Media Group's "Marketing on Hold" can turn a negative "on hold" waiting time into a positive experience by informing and educating a captive audience about a company. The marketing messages will aim to educate potential clients about products, promotions, and services. The custom tailored marketing messages may also drive potential customers to websites, seminars, and other various events. The audio production will take place at NLIs state of the art recording studio and will include such features as professional voice over's and custom musical accompaniment.
If you would like any additional information or to contact NLI Media group about their marketing on hold packages, please contact Mark Lassoff or visit them on the web at www.nlimediagroup.com.
